A special note about online courses for prospective distance learning students who will not reside in Texas: The United States Department of Education (USDOE) published regulations in the Federal Register (Chapter 34, § 600.9(c)) that require all institutions of higher education to seek authorization in every state (and territory) in which they operate, physically or virtually, in order to maintain eligibility for federal financial aid. Licensure Disclosure

Enrollment into a program does not guarantee licensure or certification. Each state has its own rules and regulations related to professional licensure requirements which can be changed at any time based on state discretion. The student is responsible for staying up to date on state licensure requirements.

For states where TCU has presently enrolled students, and for states where prospective students have inquired, TCU has contacted state licensing authorities to confirm that the program meets the educational requirements leading to professional licensure. Other licensure requirements may include professional certification exams, background checks, years of work experience, fingerprinting, etc.
