Harris Ambassadors
The mission of Harris Ambassadors is to support and enhance the college’s prospective,
undergraduate and graduate student experience. This is achieved by serving as official
student representatives of Harris College through active participation as experience
facilitators, peer advisors and student influencers.
Harris Ambassadors are selected based on their:
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
- Active participation in student organizations
- Campus activities or community outreach and service
- Strong academic record
- Genuine interest in their academic area of study, TCU and its students
Harris Ambassadors receive unique professional development experiences, academic-focused programming and leadership opportunities. The program commitment is one academic year.

What will I be doing?
Actively engage with prospective students by sharing your own experiences and insights, and answer questions about academic programs, student life and support services. You will also participate in recruitment events, both in-person and virtually, and help create a welcoming environment for prospective students and their families. Through their dedication and passion, Harris Ambassadors play a crucial role in attracting and inspiring the next generation of students at TCU.
Play a vital role in our social media, storytelling, content creation efforts. Ambassadors help craft authentic and engaging stories that highlight the college experience, from academic achievements to campus life. You'll help brainstorm and create content for various platforms, like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube, working closely with our student marketing team. By sharing your personal journey and the stories of your peers, you'll help build a compelling narrative that attracts prospective students and keeps our Harris College and TCU community connected and informed.
Partner and collaborate with other organizations and departments on campus to enhance the overall student experience by co-hosting events and initiatives that benefit the entire college community. Through these collaborations, Ambassadors help bridge connections across campus, promote interdisciplinary engagement and ensure that students have access to diverse resources and opportunities. This collaborative spirit fosters a cohesive and supportive environment, enriching the college experience for all students at TCU.

The Requirements
Harris Ambassadors are required to attend an onboarding and training seminar at the beginning of the academic year and any subsequent meeting(s) required by initiatives they're participating in (brainstorming and planning meetings, etc.), and are encouraged to participate as their schedule allows.
- Ambassadors must remain in good academic standing throughout the academic year.
- Ambassadors are required to participate in a minimum of two (2) activities or events
per semester, a total of four (4) for the academic year.
- Each undergraduate Ambassador must participate in a minimum of one (1) Monday at TCU or one (1) Experience TCU.
- Each graduate Ambassador must participate in a minimum of one (1) recruitment activity.
- Ambassadors are encouraged to participate in more than four activities if they would like and if their schedule permits.
The time commitment is dependent per activity and may range from 30 minutes up to two hours.
The Process
- Submit your application online.
- Harris College will verify your academic standing.
- You will conduct a virtual interview.
- Acceptance notices delivered via email by or on Aug. 12, 2024.
- Attend Onboarding and Media Training session (two sessions offered the week of Aug. 26)
